We all know it: you've created the perfect make-up look, but then comes the most exciting moment... applying false eyelashes. For many, it feels like an impossible task where glue ends up everywhere except on the lash line.

Step 1: Measure twice, cut once

Not every eye is the same, and therefore the fit of your false eyelashes is crucial. Hold the lash strip against your natural lash line to see if it's not too long.

Pro tip: Is the strip too long? Always trim a small piece from the outer edge. This way, you maintain the natural curve of the lashes.

Step 2: Make the lash band flexible

New lashes can sometimes be a bit stiff. To prevent the corners from coming loose, you can wrap the lash strip around your finger or a make-up brush. This gives the strip a natural curve that perfectly matches the shape of your eyelid.

Step 3: The secret is in waiting (30 seconds!)

This is the step where most mistakes are made. Apply a thin layer of lash glue to the strip and wait for 30 seconds. The glue needs to become 'sticky' before you apply it. If the glue is too wet, the lash will slide and it will become a mess.

Step 4: Look down into the mirror

Place a mirror on your table and look down while applying the lashes. This gives you a full view of your lash line. Use tweezers or a special lash applicator to first secure the strip in the middle, and then press down the corners.

Step 5: Blend with mascara

Is the lash in place? Wait until the glue is completely dry. Then use an eyelash curler to crimp your natural lashes and the false lashes together. Finish with a thin layer of mascara to seamlessly blend everything together.
