Wearing false eyelashes with glasses: How to prevent them from touching the lenses

Do you wear glasses and have you given up on wearing false eyelashes because they constantly 'tap' against your lenses? It's a common problem: you blink and thwack... your lashes hit the lens. Not only is this annoying, but it also makes your glasses get dirty faster.

Fortunately, wearing glasses doesn't mean you can't wear beautiful Olimbera lashes. With the right model choice and a few clever tricks, you can enjoy a glamorous look without your glasses getting in the way.

1. Choose curl instead of length

The biggest secret for glasses wearers is the curl of the lash. Instead of lashes that stick straight forward (and thus hit your lenses), it's better to choose models with a strong curl (such as a C-curl or D-curl).

• Why? These lashes curl upwards towards your eyebrows instead of forwards towards your lenses. So you get the volume, but not the length that gets in the way.

2. Focus on volume, not millimeters

If you wear glasses, your eyes can sometimes disappear behind the frame. To make your eyes pop anyway, you need volume.

• Our tip: Choose lashes that are 'dense' (full) at the base, but have an average length (usually between 10mm and 12mm). This makes your lashes appear fuller and darker, which looks beautiful behind glass, without them being physically too long.

3. The 'Wispy' look works best

Lashes with different hair lengths (wispy lashes) are ideal for glasses wearers. Because the hairs are not all the same length, a lighter effect is created. Even if a single longer hair touches your glass, it feels much less heavy and irritating than a whole thick, straight lash line.

4. Placement is everything

Sometimes it can help to apply the lash strip at a slightly more oblique angle.

• The technique: Apply the lash strip and, while the glue is still a bit wet, gently push the hairs upwards a bit more with a lash applicator or your finger. This forces the lashes into a curl that is further away from your spectacle lenses.

5. Adjust your frame (if possible)

Do you have glasses with nose pads? Sometimes you can have them very carefully adjusted a millimeter by the optician, so that the glasses sit a little further from your face. This small difference is often enough to be able to wear even your longer favorite Olimbera lashes!
